Aissa Perico, MFA

Aissa Perico (she, her, hers) is a creative professional from Fresno, California. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from California State University, Fresno, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Her academic training consists of experimenting in various fields of writing, systematic communication, and developing a clear understanding of online resources and programs. She has developed strong writing, editing, and communication skills, along with a deep appreciation for amplifying underrepresented voices through storytelling and publishing.

With over six years of both rigorous academic training and practical classroom experience, she has experience working with students with varied literacy backgrounds, guiding them to master critical analysis, thesis development, and mechanics. Her experience has strengthened her ability to communicate complex ideas in an accessible and engaging manner while continuing to foster a supportive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence in their writing. She values the importance of creating spaces where students feel seen, challenged, and supported as they move forward together.

Perico has also acquired skills and experience in editing, proofreading, content organization, and maintaining consistency across written materials while working with digital publishing tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office 365 apps, Mailchimp, and a variety of email marketing software. Since 2020, she has spent years refining other writers’ work, giving her a sharp instinct for audience resonance, allowing for the switch of brand voices seamlessly. She brings a self-editing discipline to all work, ensuring all deliveries are polished, accurate, and structurally sound.
